Legendary alternative rock bands Pixies and Modest Mouse have announced the third leg of their North American Tour 2023, which includes a stop in Seattle at Climate Pledge Arena on September 8. Fans of both bands can expect an unforgettable night of music, which will also include a performance by the band Cat Power.

Pixies, formed in Boston in 1986, are known for their unique blend of punk, indie rock, and surf music. They rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits like “Here Comes Your Man,” “Monkey Gone to Heaven,” and “Debaser.” The band broke up in 1993 but reunited in 2004 and has been touring and releasing new music ever since. Pixies’ latest album, Doggerel, was released in 2022 and received critical acclaim.

Issaquah’s own Modest Mouse, formed in 1992, has been hailed as one of the most important bands of the indie rock movement. Known for their quirky lyrics and experimental sound, Modest Mouse has released several critically acclaimed albums, including The Moon & Antarctica and Good News for People Who Love Bad News. The band’s unique style has earned them a dedicated fan base, and their live shows are known for their high energy and captivating performances. Modest Mouse’s latest album, The Golden Casket, was released in 2021.

The joint tour of Pixies and Modest Mouse promises to be one of the most exciting events in the alternative rock world this year.
