Seattle musician Sea Lemon, aka Natalie Lew, has recently inked a record deal with Luminelle Recordings, the independent label that previously signed another local favorite, Enumclaw.

Sea Lemon crafts a blend of dreampop, shoegaze, and indie pop. Lew’s ethereal vocals and lush instrumentation have been winning over listeners and critics alike. Now, with the backing of Luminelle Recordings, Sea Lemon’s music is poised to reach even larger audience.

On Tuesday, May 23, Sea Lemon released her latest single, “Cellar.” With her dreamy vocals and captivating lyrics, she explores being simultaneously drawn to and very fearful of something. In an Instagram post, Sea Lemon shared her inspiration behind the song, revealing, “Cellar is all about my love of horror movies (like Psycho! And Barbarian!) and how loving scary/gory/campy content makes me wonder if something is wrong with me.” It’s a track that will make you feel intrigued and maybe just a little bit unnerved.

Lew co-wrote the song with Jackson Phillips. Phillips also produced the track.

In addition, Sea Lemon dropped the “Official Lyric Video” for “Cellar.” The video was shot and edited by Lew and Abe Poultridge, with a special shout-out to Ren Bartlebaugh. It features Lew simply standing on the rooftop of a house in broad daylight, yet it somehow creates a dark and atmospheric vibe through the use of an eerie costume and a vintage video effect.
