Seattleites, get ready for the ultimate outdoor movie experience! Movies at the Mural, presented by Prime Video, is back with an incredible lineup of free feature films every summer. The series kicks off on Friday, July 28, at the Mural Amphitheatre Lawn, with the iconic Space Needle providing a stunning backdrop. This year’s event features a mix of classic and contemporary movies that are appropriate for all ages.

Starting at 9 p.m. on five consecutive Fridays from July 28 to August 25, the series includes The Princess Bride, Clueless, Jaws, Dreamgirls, and Wakanda Forever. But that’s not all! Before each feature, a short film created by Cornish College of the Arts students will be shown.

The first movie to be featured is the beloved classic, The Princess Bride. Rated PG with a run time of 1 hour 38 minutes, the movie celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. The movie follows the peasant farmhand Westley as he battles three bumbling outlaws and a nefarious prince to win the hand of his one true love, a young woman named Buttercup. Expect all the fencing, chasing, escapes, silly accents, and rodents of unusual size that you’d expect in this classic film.

The second movie, Clueless, is rated PG-13 and has a run time of 1 hour 37 minutes. Cher and Dionne, two popular, rich, pretty, and charming Beverly Hills high school students, decide to make over a new girl at school. They are successful, but in the process, Cher realizes that she might need a spiritual makeover of her own.

On August 11, it’s time for some thrills with the 1975 classic Jaws. Rated PG with a run time of 2 hours 4 minutes, the movie tells the story of a killer shark that unleashes chaos on a beach community off Cape Cod. It’s up to a local sheriff, a marine biologist, and an old seafarer to hunt the beast down. But can they outsmart the ultimate aquatic man-eater and escape from its massive jaws?

Next up is Dreamgirls, rated PG-13 with a run time of 2 hours 10 minutes. Based on the 1981 Broadway musical, Dreamgirls is a story of greed, tough hate, and romance. Three young women desire to become pop stars and get their wish when they’re picked to be backup singers for the legendary James “Thunder” Early. The make-or-break opportunity leads to a rift between the trio as one of them rises to star status, and another gets fired.

Finally, on August 25, it’s time for Wakanda Forever! Rated PG-13 with a run time of 2 hours 41 minutes, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sees Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye, and the Dora Milaje fight to protect the kingdom of Wakanda from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. The Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, and the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia and Everett Ross and forge a new path for their nation.
