Seattle’s Pacific Science Center (PacSci) has recently announced its partnership with Seattle-based radio station KEXP. This collaboration is expected to bring a unique musical laser experience to the city through a DJ residency program. The partnership, named “Live at the Laser Dome: KEXP DJ in Residence,” kicked off on yesterday, April 5th, with DJ Yaddy.

Through this program, KEXP DJs will curate a series of monthly playlists for the Laser Dome. Each DJ will perform a live set once a month, accompanied by the laser performance. The DJs were selected from KEXP shows like El Sonido, Positive Vibrations, Street Sounds, Mechanical Breakdown, and more.

The Laser Dome, located at PacSci, is the world’s largest laser dome and the only one in the Pacific Northwest. It is also one of the longest-running dedicated laser domes globally, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

Will Daugherty, the President and CEO of PacSci, expressed his pride in this partnership, saying that it is a celebration of the city of Seattle and highlights the profound ties between STEM, music, and community. Chris Kellogg, the Chief Programming Officer at KEXP, shared his excitement about this latest endeavor, saying that they are looking forward to joining PacSci to celebrate the power of enjoying and discovering great music together with lasers.

Moreover, the Laser Dome’s laser artists will adapt each show in real time based on the crowd’s reaction, making it a unique and unforgettable experience. Those interested in purchasing tickets can visit PacSci.org.
